Porsche are all set to unveil their latest offering, the Macan, at
the forthcoming LA Auto Show. This new SUV is based on the next-generation Q5,
and both the cars will share a lot of components, including powertrains. Engine
options will include a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and a 3.0-litre V6 petrol motor,
both of which will be mated to seven-speed dual-clutch auto boxes from the VW
parts bin.
Porsche have styled the Macan to be a dynamic and sporty SUV, and it borrows a lot of design ideas from big brother Cayenne. The Macan will go on sale in Europe and the US early next year, but India will have to wait longer to get it. The crucial bit is going to be its price.
