BMW to
showcase entirely new Mini line-up at NY auto show.
MINI, the
iconic British brand owned by BMW, will sport a completely new look for the
next year. At the upcoming New York Auto Show, BMW will be showcasing the
third-generation Mini that is based on BMW’s new modular platform for small
cars. It is said to be slightly bigger than the current platform, which means
that the new Mini will now be spacious. BMW also plan to launch a number of
Mini models with four doors starting with the hatch.
Styling has
been upgraded as well. The Mini Vision concept clearly shows what you can
expect. The interior will also receive a complete overhaul to keep up with the
current design trends. To make the new Mini more efficient and fun to drive the
engineers have used a lot of aluminium to keep the weight down. The new car was
also subjected to BMW’s wind tunnel testing and the company claims that it is
the most aerodynamic Mini ever. The entire line-up is expected to beequipped
with three-cylinder turbocharged motors along with a set of hybrid powertrains.
We expect BMW to showcase the third-generation Mini at the 2016 Auto Expo as
well.
